Two fourth year students from the Toneelacademie Maastricht's regional training programme have, on pop podium NIEUWE NOR's initiative, been inspired by contemporary hip-hop culture to create AFTER ALL for their graduation direction project. They have therefore taken 'Phaedra', written by Jean Racine in 1677 and placed it in modern times. The result is a stunning convergence of classic themes and man's never-ending struggle for respect, combined with elements from hip-hop culture. And so, AFTER ALL is a contemporary, multidisciplinary musical theatre experience.
