Ed Kowalczyk, better known as the band LIVE’s front man, has an impressive résumé. He recorded eight albums with his band, of which more than 20 million were sold worldwide. This and their fantastic live performances ensured that LIVE would become one of the most successful rock bands of the nineties.
Alive, the latest album produced by this singer and his new band, has recently been released. Kowalczyck said the following in an interview with NU.nl: ‘I've started a new chapter and am once again full of passion and excitement. After twenty years I still think I have something to say. [...] I am who I am, I'm not going to suddenly start singing differently. Musically speaking, it is similar to what I did with Live, because that's the kind of music I like. It's my signature. To my mind it's mostly the soul and the energy of the music that's changed.’ Working with other musicians awakened a new urge. ‘It provides inspiration and a different way of looking at things. They interpret music in a different way compared to how I have become used to doing it for the past twenty years.
