Theater Aachen held their first Performance Night during last year’s Cultura Nova. Performers from Theater Aachen, Theatre K and the Toneelacademie Maastricht held evening performances in foyers, stairwells and even in a wardrobe. The first Aachener Performance Night was full of surprising, exciting and sensual encounters with unknown and almost familiar artists alike. 

Performing is absolutely essential; it can put you through the wringer and it can tear you up, it can bring you pleasure and it can seduce. The artistic leaders from each participating organisation want to show the audience once again what the theatre has to offer in terms of performance. The audience can even choose the programme order. The following is an overview of what is on offer:

Toneelacademie Maastricht presents:

• Rosa Braber – Sultry
• Performance – a contemporary rendition of the children's song “Wee little toddler.”
• Tine Cartuyvels and Marijke de Kerf– Pear.
• Performance inspired by sentio ergo sum– I feel, therefore I am.
• Nina Willems– Shy (theatricalperformer)
• Text, video and design about fear, rage and despair.
• Stefan Jakiela – Truth Covered
• Video installation with satin on people.
• The box by and with Martijn Klink and Willem-Jan Wellens.
• One-man show (5-8 mins.) What happens when two people find themselves sitting in a box together?
• Rosalie Wammes– Legal Fiction. Concert –own work in a surprising combination of guitar, drum, synthesizer and harp.

 Theatre K presents:

• Nicole Erbe & Fanerose Company – Subjektiven, 1. Performance.
• Nicole Erbe & Fanerose Company – Subjektiven, 2. Film.
• Catharina Marquet (vocals), Mona Creutzer (actress), Manou Liebert (harpist) – Amazing Traumatic Amnesia. Musical performance.
• Tanzcompany – 0110 move. Dance theatre music, scenario by Cibelle de Padua, Ernst Wawra, Peter Krauss and Simone Schmitt.
• Manfred Leuchter (Accordion)- SoCalled Disorder, Dance/theatre/musical performance.

 Theater Aachen presents:

• Gordon makes us drunk, the first video by famous British artists Gilbert & George.
• Joey Zimmermann – Der Platten-Spieler. Performance.
• Julia Brettschneider and Wiebke Alphei – Life in a dead circus.
• Performance with a big doll about the question “What is death and what is life?”
• Annalisa Derossi – Grand Piano 2. Unusual dance and musical performance.
