Figure it out Yourself! is a performance for those aged 10 and up. Dutch-Israeli theatre maker Ilay den Boer (1986) wants to build one dream house with all the children of the world. Ilay and his grandfather, who used to be a child psychologist (someone who plays with children to find out what’s wrong with them) have been sitting on this idea for quite some time now. But sadly enough it never came to fruition. That is why he now wants to build it with you. Want to come help?

 

Figure it out Yourself! is step four in a six-part series called The Promised Party in which Den Boer examines his homeland of Israel and Jewish history through personal family portraits. He attempts to describe the indescribable aspects of war and unravel the unbelievable complexity of Jewish history.
