Sloping Surface, the new exhibition by Theater Tuig, has chosen a topical theme with an ode to nuance. Three players take an incredible journey and experience the power of extremes in a landscape that is in constant movement. They move on a hinged bellows five metres in the air. Depending on how you look, it either creates a flat floor or a sloping surface. Where you stand therefore determines your world view. Come have a look and decide for yourself what you see!
Artistic leader Marc van Vliet has been creating musical site-specific theatre with his permanent team of five employees for twelve years now, following in the tradition of Dogtroep, Lunatics and Vis Voalá Vis. Their exhibitions are characterised by the crossover approach of images, movement and sound. This approach has won them a unique position on the border between visual art and musical theatre. During the 2009 Cultura Nova, Tuig performed with Schraapzucht (Rafgier) and also created Tocht (Journey, 2007), Tegenwind (Headwind, 2005) and many other exhibitions.
