Anne Parlevliet / Intro in Situ

De fanfare en alles wat verandert (The fanfare and everything that changes)

Musictheatre

This striking and contemporary musical performance by composer Anne Parlevliet sings praises of the age-old Limburg tradition of fanfare. But fanfare is also susceptible to change. Acoustic and electronic fanfare instruments embody and give voice to these changes. Technology and tradition meet in The Fanfare and Everything That Changes. Poet Frans Budé wrote a long epic poem for the occasion in which music and text are closely related. With a combination of raw electronic music and harmonious wind instruments, this is a show you surely won’t want to miss.

The Fanfare and Everything That Changes is about two men, a composer and a member of the local wind and percussion section from South Limburg. They are from different generations and have never met, but share the same passion: music. Their stories are both an ode to the Mijnstreek of yesteryear and to modern-day Parkstad.

The performance uses traditional and modern fanfare instruments; the new instruments were commissioned by BV Limburg and developed by Steim.
