A musical tribute to the storytellers.
Discover a place where time no longer rules.
Leave your haste behind, put your worries aside until tomorrow.
Open the gates of your ears and step into a world of long ago, yet still of today.
Hear the rhythm and melody of stories old and new.
People have always told each other stories. To understand the world, to remember, and to pass on life’s lessons. So join Laika on a journey into the depths of time. A journey full of marvellous encounters: with a stressed hippopotamus and an itchy elephant, hospitable aunts, a goat in love, an untrustworthy crow…
In the footsteps of West African storytellers
Amadou is an ode to the art of storytelling and the spellbinding music that accompanies it. The performance is inspired by the work of the Malian author Amadou Hampâté Bâ. He collected and recorded the mythical tales from the collective memory of the Fulani people. In this production, actress Aminata Demba follows in the footsteps of West African storytellers. She steps into the shoes of a child with a head full of questions, both big and small. Her quest for answers becomes an adventure in which she also discovers herself
