A modern fable without words.
With Full House, the Catalan artists’ collective Eléctrico 28 brings authentic Spanish mask theatre to Cultura Nova. Through physical theatre, live music and plenty of humour – rather than words – this performance tells the story of neighbours Koala, Dog and Horse. Koala is in love with the whole world. Dog is a loner with a passion for classical music. Horse is bursting with energy and always has a million things on the go at once. The three are mainly preoccupied with themselves and their daily routines, without really noticing one another.
And then along comes the exuberant Tiger, who also wants to move into the neighbourhood. Tiger is adventurous and a real party animal. The neighbours join forces to stop him from moving in and find common ground in their struggle. But when Tiger invites his new neighbours to a welcome party, he sets a new situation in motion. By coming together, the neighbours are able to let go of the preconceptions they have about one another and become increasingly familiar with the sense of community.
School performances of this show will also be offered during the festival.
