Kapellaan ter hoogte van Discovery Museum Kerkrade
Join YUNI on her journey of discovery in Parkstad and be enchanted by the beautiful figures created by Plasticiens Volants.
YUNI symbolises unity through diversity. In her rainbow-coloured costume, created by many hands, she explores her surroundings in Parkstad during Cultura Nova. In Brunssum, she meets the extraordinary fish Triton, and in Kerkrade she encounters the winged character Puffin. She is given a guided tour and, whilst doing so, they have fun together with local residents and the public. Until the parade suddenly comes to a halt. Standing before them is the ill-tempered serpent Quetzalcoatl. The mood changes. Puffin and Triton, unaware of any danger, approach Quetzalcoatl playfully. This irritates the serpent, and slowly the tension mounts, until the attack begins. At that moment, YUNI steps between them and calms both figures down. It is in YUNI’s nature to bring people together, even when they seem to be polar opposites.
