LIMBURGzaal
A raw, ritualistic performance about loss, memory and rebirth that you don’t simply watch but experience.
We were first introduced to Princess at Great Apes of the West Coast during Cultura Nova 2024. For this poignant solo performance, she immediately received the Theo d’Or and a nomination for the BNG Theatre Prize. This year, this exceptional young artist returns with the premiere of Wild Woman – Part 1: The Bone Collector. In this production, Princess takes you into a mythical world where identity, body and voice fall apart, only to be rebuilt from there
Wild Woman
For Wild Woman, Princess drew inspiration from the character of La Loba in Clarissa Pinkola Estés’ *Women Who Run With the Wolves*. La Loba collects lost bones, which she sings back to life. Not out of a longing for the past, but because forgotten stories need to be retold. The performance begins with a sense of loss: the loss of heritage, family history and connection to ancestors. From that void emerges a journey full of confrontation, change and growth. This is a process in which old layers must be shed before space can be created for something new.
Wild Woman is based on African spiritual traditions and combines various musical styles, such as Afro-futurism, Afro-punk, metal and rap. Through live music, powerful imagery, movement and projections, Princess creates a unique atmosphere. You don’t just watch the performance; you share a collective experience of loss, memory and resilience. A poetic and powerful quest for voice, body and identity in a time of personal and societal challenges.
